2011 Studentship scheme, a new marmoset care website, upcoming deadlines and events.

Studentship Scheme
Fifteen PhD studentships have been awarded to leading research groups for projects covering all 3Rs. Advertising for suitable candidates will begin in early 2012.

Marmoset Care website - A new refinement resource
A new microsite co-funded by the NC3Rs and the Primate Society of Great Britain is now live. Produced by the University of Stirling, it is an interactive site which provides information on how best to care for common marmosets in captivity.

Upcoming deadlines:
Project and pilot study grant schemes - Deadline 9 February
The deadline is approaching for applications to the project and pilot grant schemes. Researchers working within UK establishments are eligible to apply. Applications must be submitted via the Je-S system by 9 February.

Upcoming events:

Mathematical modelling and toxicology workshop  - 2 March 2012
In 2012, the NC3Rs will be holding a call for proposals on research on mathematical modelling in toxicology. To launch the call and provide an opportunity for communication and networking between mathematicians and toxicologists, a workshop will be held on 2 March in central London.

ASAB/SEB/NC3Rs symposium  - 4-5 July 2012
The speakers have been announced for the joint symposium with NC3Rs, ASAB and SEB. The 2 day meeting will showcase methodologies for implementing the 3Rs in behavioural and physiological research. The event is open to scientists and associated support staff.
