The Genomic Standards Consortium (GSC) “is working to become the authoritative working body in the area of genomics for the development and adoption of standards.”
In a recent article (1), the GSC provides an overview of their current activities, and issues a call for other scientists to join their open-membership organization to work on community-based standards. They note that “For any standard to create a lasting impact requires substantial input from the wider scientific community, including adoption and support.”
